Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and submit consolidated reporting packages to the parent company.
  • Support annual budgeting and perform budget-versus-actual analysis and reporting.
  • Manage transfer pricing documentation and assess intercompany transaction pricing with relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee corporate income tax and consumption tax filings in coordination with external tax consultants.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
  • Evaluate and enhance internal controls in line with J-SOX requirements and respond to internal audits.
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate accounting team members, providing guidance and training.
  • Drive process improvements and digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and system optimization.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of accounting and finance experience, including at least 5 years in a team leadership or managerial role.
  • Proficiency in Japanese to communicate with Japan HQ
  • Proven experience in consolidated accounting and preparation of reporting packages for a parent company.
  • Practical experience with J-SOX internal control operations and management of external financial and internal control audits.
  • Foundational knowledge of transfer pricing in international transactions, with experience overseeing corporate income tax and consumption tax filings.
  • High IT literacy, including ERP systems and advanced Excel skills, with a proactive approach to process improvement and digital transformation.
