Responsibilities:

  • Support regional retail expansion initiatives, including planning and execution of new store openings.
  • Identify, evaluate, and source suitable commercial properties for retail locations.
  • Liaise with landlords, property agents, and developers to arrange meetings and conduct negotiations.
  • Lead end-to-end lease negotiations and support contract finalisation and execution.
  • Manage back-office matters related to store expansion, including rental calculations and cost tracking.
  • Oversee administrative tasks such as staff overtime monitoring and incentive disbursements.
  • Coordinate closely with regional headquarters and local operations teams to ensure alignment.
  • Act as a core member of the regional expansion team, contributing to long-term growth strategies.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently, with strong ownership of projects and outcomes.
  • Relevant experience in retail expansion, real estate leasing, business development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language for liaison with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Candidates who are not proficient in Japanese, but who are willing and motivated to learn Japanese in order to communicate effectively with Japanese‑speaking clients and stakeholder, where job‑related, are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of, or strong interest in, Japanese corporate culture, particularly in the context of working with stakeholders in Japan.
