Job Summary:
Lead and oversee client accounting engagements while managing a hybrid team to deliver high-quality financial and advisory services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a hybrid on-site and remote team to ensure consistent quality across all client deliverables
  • Review and approve financial statements, management reports, and related outputs to maintain quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with assigned clients
  • Take ownership of portfolio deadlines, proactively identifying risks and escalating issues when required
  • Handle non-standard client requests, including accounting system changes and process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Directors and adapt to differing management and decision-making styles
  • Contribute to documenting, improving, and standardising internal workflows in a developing process environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting firm
  • CPA qualification (Singapore, Malaysia, or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • At least 3 years of manager-level experience in an accounting firm, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity
  • Strong track record of meeting client deadlines with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently in an environment where internal processes may not be fully formalised
  • Flexible and constructive approach when managing irregular or unexpected client requests
  • Prior experience servicing Japanese corporate clients is an added advantage
  • Experience managing multicultural teams across on-site and remote settings is an added advantage
  • Ability to overlap with an outgoing manager before early June to ensure a smooth handover is an added advantage
  • Membership with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) is an added advantage
  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms is an added advantage
